December 1944. Haunted by the lyrics, “peace on earth good will to men,” and drowned out by the horrors of the second world war, a homesick soldier in the besieged city of Bastogne shares his thoughts with his wife in a letter seconds before the Germans attack his position and his life is forever changed.
